Any help would be welcome. We need to move the chippings before Friday as it is the Country Fair at Stanley on Friday. For several years walkers have been trying to get the local Sefton Council to improve a public footpath that is well used by walkers. The council has constantly stated that they did not have the money to carry out the work.<br /><br />A few months ago the local High School , Stanley High Sport College, had a community action day and several Duke of Edinburgh Award students joined the Civic Society in clearing away overgrowth as well as clearing an accumulation of rubbish.<br /><br />Councillor Maguire persuaded the council to donate 20 tonnes of wood chippings from their forestry section. The Civic Society with the walkers and Councillor Maguire made a start on spreading the chippings on the surface of the path. More work is still needed to use up all the chippings.
